Zypp Electric reported revenue of approximately ₹455 crore for the financial year 2024-25, marking a 50 per cent increase from ₹302 crore in FY24. The electric mobility and last-mile logistics platform said it expects to achieve EBITDA profitability within the next one to two quarters.

According to a report by Economic Times, the non-core operations at Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI) have been cut, and the Japanese automobile company will be transferring to two of its partners, Accenture and Genpact.

Low-speed EVs likely to face stricter norms

Low-speed electric vehicles (EVs) such as Yulu,Zypp Electric,YC Electric, Mahindra Last Mile and Lohia, which currently operate under lighter norms, may soon face tighter regulatory standards. Sources said that thegovernment wants to bring them under a formal framework for certification, registration and safety compliance. At present, EVs with a top speed of up to 25 kmh and motor power below 2 50W can be sold without formal certification or registration, provided, their unladen weight,excluding the battery,is under 60 kg. These vehicles, which include delivery trikes, last-mile scooters and e-cycles, are required to only meet the minimal safety features under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules(CMVR). The ministry of heavy industries (MHI) is now planning to formally approach the ministry of road transport and highways

(MoRTH) to revise these guidelines.Officials said the proposal would seek mandatory testing and certification, through authorised agencies, to ensure stricter compliance with speed, weight and power standards.

Tata Motors' EV journey moving in the right direction: Anand Kulkarni, Chief Products Officer
Tata Motors has been a strong force in the Indian EV market, with a substantial 38.10per cent market share as of March 2025. The company has cumulatively sold over 2 lakh EVs in India as of February 2025, underscoring their significant contribution and presence in the nation's electric mobility journey. The Tata EV story began in January 2020 with the Nexon EV, widely regarded as the spark that ignited the EV revolution in India. Auto components industry to grow 6-8% in FY26 amid tariff woes: ICRA
The new tariffs are expected to add around ₹9,000 crore in incremental costs across the supply chain, impacting US consumers, importers, and Indian exporters. The extent to which Indian companies absorb these costs will depend on their competitiveness and the price sensitivity of their products. Overall operating margins could fall by 50–100 basis points (bps) to 10.5–11.5 per cent in FY26. Exporters could see a sharper margin decline of 150–250 bps if they are unable to fully pass on the additional costs.

KTM halts production in Austria once again

This is in addition to the e Vitara that’s slated to arrive by September. While Bhargava did not share additional details about the SUV, our sister publication Autocar Professional has learnt it will be the three-row version of the Grand Vitara SUV. Autocar India exclusively reported on the upcoming SUV in early 2023, and that it will be produced at Maruti’s new plant in Kharkhoda.
